Friday - A Day

On Saturday, April 21 Kennedy Middle School PTO will hold a fundraiser luncheon at the Outback Steakhouse in Southington from 11:00am-12:30pm. The cost is $20.00 per person. Click here for ticket order forms.

Reminder to all students: Please bring in your earbuds for SBAC testing.

The final softball combined tryouts will be today. The list of players invited is listed on Mr. Cristelli's door.

Do you like going to carnivals? Do you like games? Do you like winning prizes? We are having a Spring Carnival for all students on Thursday, April 26th after school until 4:00 pm. There will be games and activities such as corn hole, a ring toss, a lip sync competition, a photo booth, a basketball free throw and more. The cost to attend is free but the student council will be collecting donations of canned goods at the door to donate to Southington Community Services. Raffle tickets will be on sale for 50 cents each. The event will be held in the JFK cafeteria and gymnasium. We hope to see you there!

Smarter Balanced Assessment practice testing starts Tuesday, April 17th. Please bring in earbuds.

Builders Club will meet May 3rd at 3:30 in the media center.

The National Junior Honor Society is sponsoring Kennedy's second annual Kennedy's Got Talent! Singing, dancing, comedy acts, funny skits, magic tricks are wanted!!! The sign up sheet is located outside the main office. The acts should be no longer than 3 minutes and school appropriate. The show will be held on Wednesday, May 2nd at 6:30. Auditions will be held on April 18th and 25th after school until 4:00 pm. Rides can pick you up after your audition on the cafe side of the building. Any questions, please see Mrs. Fontaine in room 206.

Attention all writers for the Young Authors Competition: The deadline for submissions has been extended to April 20th. Please give your permission to your language arts teacher with the participation from by that date.

We need students for the Kennedy Eagles Relay for Life Team. Come join us as we walk the track of Southington High School on Friday, June 1st to raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society. See Miss Soltys for details.

Just an update on TwYlight:

***There is no TwYlight until May 11th, which will be the last TwYlight.

  • -It will be the final twYlight before the end of the school year.
  • -Birthday themed as it is the Y’s 90th birthday week

Band Announcements:

SSR time today is for grade 7 & 8 band.

Stage band has rehearsal on Monday until 4:00 pm. Also, there is color guard practice after school today until 4:00 pm.

VOT will rehearse after school on Monday. Swing Choir will meet after school on Wednesday. Noteworthy will meet again after school next Thursday. ALL AFTER SCHOOL REHEARSALS WILL GO UNTIL 4:00 pm.

It's never too early to start planning your high school experience! Holy Cross High School invites all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students as well transfer students and their families to join us at the campus for tours and admissions presentations at 6:15 pm and 7:30 pm on the second Tuesday of each month: March 13, April 10 and May 8.

For all sports: Please remember to register with Family ID, which can be found under the athletics tab. Students will not be allowed to tryout without registering first.

Today's lunch will be popcorn chicken with dips, seasoned noodles, corn and peas, cinnamon applesauce.

Monday's lunch will be hamburger or cheeseburger on a roll, curly fries, baby carrots with ranch dip and peaches.
