SOFTBALL: Practice is cancelled for TODAY. Players are to go home after school and be ready for practice tomorrow.

REHEARSALS TODAY:

JAZZ BAND will have rehearsal after school TODAY until 4:00 PM.

PTO BOOK FAIR:TODAY thru Friday 5/18 @ 12noon.Buy one - Get one free! Students will visit with their LA classes

SHS CHEERLEADING: Any 8th Grader wishing to try out must have preregistered online. Tryouts will be held TODAY.

MUNCHING IN MAY FOOD DRIVE: Peer Advocates will be collecting food for the Southington Food Pantry TODAY until Friday May 18. Any food item is acceptable but there is a special need for cereal, children’s snacks, jelly, pasta, pasta sauce, soup and heat-up dinners. There will be a bag in every social studies teacher’s room. The team who collects the most items will win Rita’s Italian Ice! Bags will be collected & counted each day period 5.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HELPERS: Group E has been rescheduled to travel to Hatton on Thursday, May 24. Meet in front of the Nurse’s office at the beginning of Period 3.

JUNIOR NEXT STEPS will be meeting TODAY after school. Please have a ride available for pick-up at JFK at 4:30. Please see Ms. Swist or Ms. Casarella if you have any questions

ATTENTION GRADE 8 STUDENT AND PARENTS: SHS Student Life/Activities Night for freshmen will be held on Wed May 23, 2018. Incoming freshmen will have the opportunity to explore clubs and activities offered at SHS. The evening will begin at 6:00 pm in the SHS cafeteria.

ROBOTICS INTEREST NIGHT: Any Grade 8 student interested in participating in the FIRST Robotics Team 195 at Southington High School next year should attend a meeting at 1900 West St, Southington from 7pm – 8:30pm on Tuesday May 29, 2018

The PowerSchool Online Course Registration Portal for grade 7 and 8 is open through Monday, May 21 at 9:00am. Access to the online course registration process is through the PowerSchool parent portal. If you do not have your parent portal username and password or have difficulty signing on to your account, you may contact the DePaolo Counseling Department. Please register as soon as possible.

THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY'S RELAY FOR LIFE will be held June 1 at the SHS track. Team DePaolo would like to invite you to fill out a "memory card" or "in support" card of someone you know whose life has been taken or touched by cancer. During lunch waves these cards can be purchased for 50 cents. They will be displayed on the wall.

VARIETY SHOW: If you showed us your act YOU ARE IN!! Please plan to attend dress rehearsal on Wednesday June 6th which will go until 5pm. All participants must attend. The Variety show will be Friday night June 8th at 7 pm in the JAD auditorium. If you are still interested in being in the variety show you must see Mrs. Bass in Rm 112 by this Friday 5/18. Also expect soon to receive a rehearsal schedule so that we can make this the best show yet!
