Today is Friday, March 13, 2020 . It is a "B" day.
Beginning today, Friday, all students will need the ID’s to enter the library. Students need to use the front door near the science classroom for period 1. The rest of the day, students may use either the front door by the science room, or the back door near the latin classroom. ID’s will be scanned at entry doors.
Today we highlight a champion for civil rights: Malala Yousafzai (Yo-sef-zie last syllable rhymes w/dye), also more commonly known as Malala, is a Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest Nobel Prize laureate. Having survived an assassination attempt in 2012 when she was 15, her advocacy has turned into an international movement. She famously stated, “I raise up my voice-not so I can shout but so that those without a voice can be heard...we cannot succeed when half of us are held back.”
Audre Lorde was a feminist poet. She worked her entire life to create more equality in the world. Not only in her contributions toward feminism, but also her work for the lgbtq+ community.
