High School Enrichment
2018 Course Opportunities
Southington Public Schools is pleased to announce that high school enrichment courses will be offered again to students at Southington High School. Now in its fourth year, the enrichment program continues to focus on building skills that are important for post-secondary work. The program is excited to announce the expansion of three new courses being offered for 2018.
Session I: 8:00 - 9:55 a.m.
Session II: 10:00 - 11:55 a.m.
Session III: 12:30 - 2:25 p.m.
Below are the courses that are being offered to high school students:
SAT Prep Courses (sessions I and II)
Dates & Times: July 2 - 26, 2018 (No Classes July 4th)
- SAT Math
- SAT Writing/Verbal
Enrollment*: 8 - 14 students
Fee: $225 for one course, $420 for both SAT prep courses
Registration includes a copy of a SAT prep book
*A second SAT session will open should enrollment exceed 14 students. These courses will still be offered in either session I or II only.
Preparing Your College Essay & Resume **NEW**
Dates & Times: July 16 - 24, 2018 (7 days)
Session III**: 12:30 - 2:00 p.m.
Enrollment: 6 students
**A second session will be offered if enrollment exceeds 10 students and will run July 5 - 13. Session times to remain the same.
Introduction to Computer Programing **NEW**
Dates & Times: July 2 - 20, 2018 (14 days)
Enrollment: 8 - 16 students
Creative Writing Workshop **NEW**
Dates & Times: July 9 - 13, 2018
Enrollment: 8 - 14 students
First class: On the first day of class only, there will be a general meeting in the Southington High School cafeteria prior to the start of each session whereby students will be assigned to teachers and rooms.
