Summer School Program and Courses 2022

Grades 9 – 12

Dear Parent/Guardian and Student:

The Board of Education will offer summer school courses for students in grades 9-12 for any of the following purposes: loss of credit due to attendance, failure of a subject, preview of a course not yet taken (no high school credit), or review of a course taken previously (no high school credit).

Registration begins in early June. Courses* being offered are:

Session I
8:00 - 9:55

Session II
10:00 - 11:55

Session III
12:00 - 1:55

Algebra I  English 11 English 12
Biology English 12 Geometry
World History Algebra I Earth Science
Health I or III (T. or Th.) Geometry Chemistry
PE II or IV (M & W) Algebra II  Modern U.S. History

2022 Registration Process

First class is Tuesday, July 5th, 2022. Students will receive directions via email regarding arrival on the first day. It is therefore important to check your email prior to the first day.

2022 course dates:

July 5 through July 28

Course times:

Session I: 8:00-9:55 a.m.

Session II: 10:00-11:55 a.m.

Session III: 12:00 p.m.- 1:55 p.m.

 

Tuition:

Tuition will be covered by the Southington Board of Education for Summer 2022. 

 

Registration:

To register your student please review the SHS Credit Recovery Document and choose one of two options: 

  • Print the Credit Recovery document and bring to the SHS Main Office, attention Tom Hinman 
  • Complete the Digital Credit Recovery Form linked here.

Any questions regarding registration can be directed to your child's counselor or Tom Hinman, Director of Summer Programming K-12. 

NOTE: Students must be eligible and be a student currently enrolled in a Southington public school.
