Today is an A Day.



Kennedy parents-Please ask your students to check the lost and found located across from the cafeteria. It is overflowing with gym bags and clothing. All clothing will be donated to Social Services on February 1st.

2018 Kennedy yearbooks are $20.00 and are now for sale. Please click on the link below for more information and to purchase a book. After February 15 the cost of the yearbook will be $25.00.

This season, Ski and Snowboard Club will be held on Monday evenings from 3:30-8:00 pm. The five dates are January 8, 22, 29, February 5 & 12. Please meet in the Red Barn near the green balloon.

On February 22, 2018, Kennedy Middle School wishes to celebrate diversity to honor the STEPS Asset of the Month: Students have knowledge and comfort with people from different cultural/racial/ethnic backgrounds. We are seeking families and community members that can donate a “taste” of their culture. The “taste” can be food, music, dance, cultural dress or cultural items.

TwYLight is on this week, Jan 19th 2018! Theme = DANCE . As it is also the day before the Sloper Plunge, we will also be collecting donations to help send kids to camp this summer! Any and all donations are greatly appreciated!”

The NJHS meeting has been changed to Monday, January 22 in room 206. Please have rides ready at 3:30.

Yearbook Club will be meeting on Friday, January 19 until 3:45.


Attention all Mathcounts members-if you have not seen Mrs. Sterner regarding today's testing, please see her in room 222 after homeroom.

The next Minecraft Club meeting will be on February 5th in room 16 by the media center.

The next Builder's Club meeting will be held on Thursday, February 15th in the media center until 3:30.

Band Announcements:

Stage band rehearses on Monday until 4 pm.

Choral Announcements:

Today's SSR rehearsals will be for Regional singers as follows:

Period 5: Grade 8 mixed choir tenors/baritone

Period 6: Grade 7 treble choir alto

This week's Swing Choir rehearsal will take place after school TODAY. This is so we can prepare for our Valentine's Day performance. Have your rides ready at 4:00 pm. Voices of Thunder will have the regularly scheduled rehearsal after school on Monday.

ATTENTION ALL 8TH GRADE PARENTS/GUARDIANS:

If you were unable to attend the SHS Parent Orientation on Monday, November 20th for incoming freshmen, you may view a slide show presentation on the Southington High School website found at www.southingtonschools.org. Once on the SHS website, on the left side, select the tab "Ninth Grade Academy" and then under "Quick Links" select "High School Basics 101" and then click on the blue highlighted "High School Basics 10" for the slide show.

For all sports: Please remember to register with Family ID, which can be found under the athletics tab. Students will not be allowed to tryout without registering first.

BJ Warehouse BJ’s will donate $5 for every collected membership form (join or renew) between January 10-24, 2018! Completed application with payment should be returned to Lisa Martin by January 24. Please click here for more info.
