Welcome to the Silver Team!!

Important Information

Grading Practice:

For a student to qualify for a re-teach opportunity, he/she must have met at least one of the following criteria:

Have handed in all homework assignments from the date of the last assessment up to the date of the assement in question.

OR

Have attended at least one extra help session prior to the date of the assessment

Therefore, any student who has missed a homework leading up to the assessment, or has not attended a session for extra help prior to the date of the actual assessment, is ineligible for reteach opportunity.

Furthermore, for any student not eligible for a reteach opportunity, they will earn the given grade on the date of the assessment.

All students who do qualify for a reteach opportunity may earn up to a 70 at the teacher's discretion.

Differentiation:

All teachers strive to meet student's individual needs as they arise. In education this is referred to as differentiation. This can occur daily during instruction or assessments. If a differentiated assessment for regular education students is occurring in any of our content areas, it will be indicated here within the upcoming assessments. (DI)

Please note that assessments for students with IEP’s, 504 plans, or in an EIP process are differentiated as prescribed by those respective plans and it is the expectation that the parents of those students affected by this have already been notified and are in agreement with the arrangement.

On-going Activities ~

Independent Reading

Students are expected to read independently for homework on a regular basis. New logs are distributed every 2 weeks, and students have 14 days to read & record 10 times. A reading log entry should be made each day and signed by a parent or guardian. Students should also be completing sticky notes while reading each night. Students MUST have an independent reading book in every class each day.

After-School Help

Silver Team teachers are available for extra help on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after school until 3:05. Tuesdays are faculty meeting days and students may not remain after school. Please extend us the courtesy of notifying us one day in advance if you wish to stay after school.
