Mission Statement THE MISSION OF THE SOUTHINGTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS IS TO HAVE: STUDENTS ENGAGE IN A RANGE OF EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES TO BECOME INFORMED, ADAPTIVE PROBLEM SOLVERS WHO EFFECTIVELY COMMUNICATE, RISE TO CHALLENGES, AND ARE COMMITTED TO IMPROVE THEMSELVES AND THEIR COMMUNITIES. (rev 6/2008) |
Southington Community Members: Welcome to the Southington Public Schools’ website. Southington, located in the geographic center of Connecticut, has a population of over 45,000 people. It has shopping centers, industrial parks, and a well developed downtown, yet it retains a rural character of farms, orchards and woodlands. We are approximately 20 minutes from Hartford, 30 minutes from New Haven with easy access to all major highways. Southington’s Board of Education is very proud and privileged to educate the 7,500 children who attend our PreK-12 schools. Every staff member takes great pride in making a significant, positive difference in the life of every child. Southington enjoys a well-deserved reputation for excellence and quality throughout all our academic and co-curricular programs. We take great pride in the pursuit of excellence with all of our programs through constant review and meaningful input from community partners. Parents, family members, students, staff and the public can use this site as an online resource for information on each of our schools, specific departments of the Board of Education, news events and other valuable resources. Respectfully,
Dr. Joseph V. Erardi, Jr. Superintendent of Schools
